Monica {Wynn Las Vegas Bridal Hair & Makeup}
Monica contacted me back in June inquiring about hair and makeup for her party of 5. After a few e-mails back and forth she booked me for her big day on October 8th at the beautiful Wynn Las Vegas. The date seemed like it was so far away, but before we knew, it was the week of the wedding.
Monica scheduled her trial to take place the day before her wedding. Which was great because not only did I get to meet everyone in her party and give myself an idea of what I would be doing on the actual wedding day, but we also came up with a gorgeous look that this beautiful bride loved. Monica was just the sweetest girl ever and we immediately clicked and got along. After her trial Monica had her rehearsal dinner to go to, so I made sure to take her hair out of her bridal style, but give her a pretty and more casual look for her dinner and of course made a few changes to her makeup.
On the wedding day we were back in Monica’s hotel suite at 10am to ensure all 5 of these beautiful ladies would be ready to go on time. We started with her cousin and bridesmaid who had a loose, elegant but fun style that went perfectly with her dress and personality. The maid of honor who happens to be the bride’s sister decided to have her hair curled and pinned to one side, which looked just perfect with her strapless dress. As far as makeup goes we kept both the bridesmaid and maid of honor more natural looking with neutral tones.
My friend and fellow stylist assisted me with the bride’s aunt and did a great job on giving her some beautiful smooth volume on her short hair and used gorgeous purple tones on her eyes to go with her plum colored dress. The mother of the bride wore a divine traditional Korean dress that was a very bright pink tone, but was going to change in to a formal dress for the reception. Therefore we gave her a versatile look to work for both style dresses. She has very short hair and it is their custom to wear their hair pulled back and smooth on the sides. We had to get a little creative to get her hair to stay back the way she wanted, but we definitely made it work for her and she was just the cutest, sweetest momma!! I used light pink tones on her makeup that played very well with both of her dresses.
Last but definitely not least is my amazing bride. Like I mentined, we did Monica’s trial the day before her wedding therefore, when it came to be her turn to be done up there was no stress and no loss of time with trial and error. It was short, sweet and straight to the point. Monica decided to have all her hair curled and pinned up toward the lower part of her head in to a classic and romantic updo. This bride wore a beautiful tiara and a veil that I switched out after the ceremony for little pearl pins that went perfectly with her reception dress. This little lady does not usually wear makeup, so she definitely wanted to still look like herself on her wedding day and we accomplished a beautiful polished look using violet tones on her eyes and very soft pink lips.
I could not have been happier to have spent an entire day with such a fabulous group of ladys. Not only did they look amazing but they had absolutely gorgeous photographs taken by Jessie & Jason from The Emerics, check out part I and part II of their blog for some details of this fabulous wedding and also their trash the dress session coming soon. Congratulations again Monica and Dave!!!

Trash the Dress Ten Years Later { Las Vegas Hair and Makeup }
When Emily asked me to do hair and makeup for her friend’s trash the dress/ten year anniversary session I agreed to do it, no problem. Then she told me that her friend Jen, who by the way is a well known food blogger for Tiny Urban Kitchen, had super short hair and linked me to her blog so I could see what she looked like.
I was excited about doing a bridal look on short hair, but I have to admit that when I saw just how short, I was a little intimidated. I started to think of a way to put her hair up and make it look more formal because I knew she would be in her wedding dress. The day of the session I met Jen at The Venetian where she was staying at 6 am and we got right to work while her hubby was still sleeping. Jen was super nice and laid back, she just let me do my thing and her hair turned out beautifully. When she showed her husband Bryan, he asked if we had put extensions in. As far as makeup goes, Jen does not wear much makeup on a regular basis and we still wanted her to look like herself therefore I kept her makeup nice and natural looking.
Jen and Bryan went up to Red Rock Canyon to have a fun trash the dress session and I’m totally jealous that after being married for ten years she still fits into that dress beautifully. Check out some more photos of the session on Emily ku Photography blog. Congratulrtions Jen and Bryan!

Pink & Tule Overload
This summer has been so busy for me with work and the kids amongst other things, it has just flown right by. I definately did not want to let the summer go by without doing something special for my two oldest girls to let them know how much I appreciate all their hard work in school and how much they’ve helped me around the house with the baby and all.
So for the past month or so I worked on coming up with a fun little party for them. About a week ago we hosted their Spa Party and it was a blast!! We invited ten of their closest little friends, our youngest little guest was two and the oldest was ten. We kept it simple but glamed it up, if that makes any sense. We served them sparkling pink lemonade in little champagne glasses, some kid friendly foods like sandwiches, chocolate covered strawberries and fruit kebabs and ofcourse for dessert beautiful strawberry filled chocolate and vanilla with strawberry buttercream frosting cupcakes, yuuummyyy!!! So here’s a few details from our fabulous spa party.
As our guests arrived my girls would show them to the bathroom where they could change into their comfy clothes and cozy robes.
My girls and they’re little guest Ely
We had a bite to eat and on to our first game while we arranged their first activity. We had the girls make their own bath salts, they got to choose what scent and color they wanted for their salts. We then packed them in a cute little jar I had premade for them to take as a party favor.
After our bath salts the girls went to play another game while we set up for the messy activity, they got to put chocolate masks on each others faces, and yes it was a real mask recipe, Once everyone had their masks on they laid down and had their cucumber slices placesd on their eyes and relaxed for a few minutes while we cleaned up.
They didn’t last very long, they were having too much fun to be relaxing.
Once everyone wiped the mask off their faces we got rid of the bath robes and put on a fashion show with feather boas and all. Some of these girls really surprised me!!! They were quite sazzy, too cute!! Once we got enough shots of them posing we let them do some singing and dancing to the songs of their choice.
My oldest baby girl.
My little mini me, making it clear that girls do have more fun!!
They then got their goody bags that included a nail file, nail polish, and ofcourse candy amongst some other fun girly stuff.
The girls sat and gave eachother manicures and by the time they were done doing that, parents were showing up to pick up their pampered little divas. I want to thank those who helped me out that day, I do not know what I would’ve done without your help, ten lttle divas can be quite a handful!! and special thanks Jessie from The Emerics for capturing all the fun in these fabulous pictures!

Nassar & Alice (Las Vegas Bridal Hair & Makeup)
Last month I had the opportunity to work with this lovely couple, Nassar and Alice. Nassar first contacted me by email and asked if I was available for a day after/engagement photo session . He explained it involved starting very early in the morning (as in 5 am) and doing not one but two hair styles.
As I learned more and more about this bride I got more and more excited. She is from Taiwan and he lives here in th US, therefore they came to Las Vegas and got married the day before their session, but are having what they are considering their real wedding, a traditional Taiwanese wedding in Taiwan later. They were having pictures taken by the talented Emily from Emily ku Photography at Red Rock in two of her three wedding dresses and then coming back to another site in Vegas for some casual pictures.
I met with this adorable couple the night before their session (just about eight hours before) to go over some details and so they could ask any questions they may have had. Although Alice did not have a trial run with me, she did have one with her stylist in Taiwan. She emailed me some pictures ahead of time as well as pictures of her dresses to give me an idea of what I would be working with and the look she was going for and it was very helpful.
This lovely bride looked beautiful in her pictures and they look like they had a total blast at their session. Congratulations again and thank you for allowing me to be a part of this special ocassion for the two of you. Here are a few pictures of this beautiful bride and check out Emily’s blog for more amazing photos.
With Love,
Daileny
Toppping it off
You’ve got the dress and the shoes for your big day but now more fun shopping and decision makinf for the accessories and hairpieces to match. Many of you will opt for the traditional tiara, but with so many to choose from which one will suit you and your dress best? A bride without a headpiece is just a beautiful girl in a glamorous gown. So, when you’re looking to find the perfect veil or headpiece to complete your wedding day look, you have to keep your unique sense of style in mind because after all, the headpiece really does make the bride. Here are some of the options that are available.
Simple and Sweet Tiara- Look absolutely stunning on your wedding day by forgoing the veil and instead opting for a tiara, available in many different styles. Slip one into your elegant updo for a simple yet sophisticated touch . The tiara is the mother of all headpieces, symbolizing a princess look. Jeweled or beaded, and worn on the top of the head, evoking beauty and royalty, tiaras go best with a formal affair and a ball-gown dress. Most women opt to wear them for indoor or winter ceremonies. They are not as common for a summer, beachside affair. Tiaras vary in formality, and can be worn with either your hair up or down.
Headbands-Show your radiant face with the help of a bridal worthy headband. A wedding headband is more than your everyday fastener. You can find headbands in a variety of widths with pearls, crystals and beads. Use a headband to hold long, short, curly or straight hair.or let your long and beautiful locks down in a carefree and romantic style accented by a sparkling headband. Breathtaking
Classic and Elegant- Bridal headpieces are always known for being traditional and elegant, but if you want to go for a classic style that will make your wedding day look unforgettable, then there is anxtensive selection of veils available. Choose from elbow, shoulder, blusher, fingertip, waltz, and cathedral-length bridal headpieces to find the perfect veil for your gown. They’re beautiful,
timeless, and totally perfect for your wedding day.
Bold and Daring- Dare to go bare and forget the veil – You’re going to look stunning when you slip a fascinator into your wedding day hairstyle. Available with feather, flower, ribbon, or crystal accents, fascinators are the perfect fit for any bold and beautiful bride. Totally modern and completely chic. Plus, without the veil, you’ll never have to worry about getting snagged while you dance the night away! Add beauty and style to your hair on your wedding day by slipping in a simple fascinator headpiece. Hair pins are an increasingly popular alternative to tiaras and crowns. They can be cute and trendy, or chic and sophisticated, You can wear one pin, or several. Hair pins also serve as bobby pins, holding your updo in place, or helping cascading curls keep their twist. Depending on the formality, hair pins are great for any season, and all types of dresses.
Vintage and Glamorous- Get that vintage style you love by wearing a birdcage hairpiece. These retro glam blusher veils feature a vintage birdcage design accented beautifully with a smart little hat, feathers, pearls, or rhinestones.
The secret to choosing the right hair accessory is to match the details of your wedding dress to your headpiece giving you a polished presence. Correspond a decorated pearl headband to your pearl studded wedding dress. A Swarovski crystal tiara fits with your crystal-laden gown. Coordinate a lace trimmed wedding dress and a lace veil. The journey leading to your wedding is filled with many decisions. Ease your burden by remembering that a perfect headpiece is one that makes you happy, brings your outfit together and results in sensationally, accessorized hair.
Meet Daileny
Hello and welcome to my blog! I am so excited to be starting my own blog and looking forward to sharing my ideas, work and lots of fun hair and makeup tips. For now I’m just going to talk a little bit about how I ended up where I am today.
I decided to enroll in beauty school when I lost my job of almost 3 years and went a few months unable to find anything else, I figured I had wasted enough time and it was time to do what I am passionate about. I began my course at Euphoria Institute of Beauty in March 2009 with so many goals and ideas of what I wanted to do when I completed my studies, but that all changed when a little under half way through I became pregnant. This completely changed every plan I had. I graduated in March 2010 and a little over a month later my beautiful baby girl was born. My husband and I decided that it would be very hard for both of us to have full time jobs and be able to dedicate the time our 3 children need and deserve. I still went ahead and got licensed through the state of Nevada and continued educating myself in the beauty industry.
As much as I’ve enjoyed my time with my kiddos and being a stay at home mom, I’ve always felt that I can’t put a stop to my career goals, and I knew there had to be a way to do both. Shortly after my daughter was born I met Jessie Emeric from Emeric Photography and we’ve become good friends since. Looking at her amazing work and how beautiful all those brides she photographs look, the idea of doing bridal hair and makeup started to float around in my head. I have done some friend’s and family’s hair and makeup for special ocassions and I’ve always had a blast doing it. I started to do more research look at pictures, videos etc. I mentioned to Jessie one day that it would be something cool to do. I don’t remember exactly how this conversation started, but she was so encouraging and helped me realize this was absolutely something I can do.
Here i am today excited to share all my experiences with you. Thank you for taking the time to read a little about me and please come back and visit, I have so many fun ideas to share. Feel free to comment, I would love to hear from you.
